I've been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years, working as a certified personal trainer, group fitness coach, and nutrition coach. I hold numerous certifications and titles, including NASM-CPT, PPSC, Precision Nutrition L1, FRCms, CF-L2, and I am currently an Active Life Professional Candidate.
I enjoy building relationships with people and helping them solve their health and fitness problems, such as reducing joint pain, losing weight, and gaining muscle. I believe this is best accomplished in a one-on-one setting. Designing customized programs, educating clients on lifestyle interventions and stress-reducing practices, and making nutrition modifications can significantly improve a person's life. My goal is to address what's holding people back from doing the things they love. I believe that pain and injury should not limit someone's ability to enjoy life to the fullest. I firmly believe that movement is medicine.
I have personally experienced the impact of this approach. After undergoing a major back surgery (360-degree lumbar spinal fusion of my L5-S1), I was advised to "slowly work my way back into the gym." Despite completing my physical therapy sessions, I was far from ready to resume my normal gym routine or participate in activities such as mountain biking, skiing, trail running, or backpacking. Fortunately, having worked in a physical therapy clinic and as a trainer, I knew how to gradually progress my recovery week by week. As a result, I am no longer limited by my back. However, I recognize that not everyone has access to such resources or the ability to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system.
